A plane crashed into a house in Clarence, NY (near Buffalo) late last night.  All 49 people on board, plus 1 person in the house died.  One of the victims was the widow of a man who died in 9/11.  It’s so incredibly sad.

As of right now, they’re thinking it was due to the weather.  Apparently the wings of the plane got covered in ice.  The weather was really nasty yesterday.  Very windy plus a combination of ice/sleet/rain/snow.  The power went out in a bunch of places near Buffalo and schools were closing.

It’s fifty degrees right now.  In the middle of February.  Time to break out the shorts.  Well, there are a few people who walk around campus with shorts on even when it’s ten degrees out.  The weather is crazy.  Tomorrow it’s supposed to snow.  Gotta love it.

Someone on the Harry Potter Fan Fiction Forums posted the link to this site where you can create a design of words based on a document you’ve written.  It’s called Wordle.   Whatever word is used the most is the biggest in the design.  The point of it was for those participating in NaNoWriMo to create Wordles of their stories.  It provided a great deal of distraction from the actual writing.   Here is mine for my NaNo.

And the best part is, you can create them for websites, too.  So here is my blog in Wordle.   I think my excerpt from my NaNo kind of messed it up, though.  I didn’t think I used the word ‘Mom’ that much in my blog.

What does everyone think of the new theme and banner? I needed a distraction from my research paper, so I decided to go ahead and pick a new theme and make a banner. I really like the three-column option and the custom banner.

I want to put a tag line in under the ‘Essence of Insanity’ title.  That’s why there’s some empty gray space there.  I just haven’t come up with anything good yet.

I have never changed the theme on this blog.  I’ve always liked this theme, but I think I might want to change it.  I kind of want to pick a theme where I can personalize the banner.  What does everyone think?  Change or no change?

1.  I celebrate both Christian and Jewish holidays.  My mom was brought up Jewish and my dad was brought up Catholic.  So, I do both Hannukah and Christmas, Easter and Passover.  But I don’t get extra presents.

2.  I’m a big country music fan.  I’ll listen to other genres, but I prefer country.  And yes, I watched the entire CMA awards the other day.

3.  Related to the above post, I met Craig Morgan once.

4.  I have written two novels.  Granted, they are fan fictions so they cannot be published, but they are novels nonetheless.

5.  I am an avid fan of Wizard Rock.  For those who don’t know (which is probably all of you), Wizard Rock, or more commonly known as WizRock or WRock, is music that is inspired by Harry Potter.  There are numerous bands that write and sing songs that have to do with Harry Potter.  My personal favorite band is The Remus Lupins.

Snow!  That’s right, there’s snow in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow.  It’s been rainy, cold, and windy all day.  The rain was turning into freezing rain as I went to dinner tonight.  It barely got above 40 degrees today and it’s going to get down into the lower 30s tonight.  I’m sure there won’t be much accumulation, but it’s still snow!

When we were on vacation, there was a pink wooden bird in the lobby of the main lodge.  My siblings and I routinely argued about whether or not the bird is a duck or flamingo.  I think it’s a flamingo, but think we should just call it a fluck and be done with it.  What does everybody think?

I finally took some pics of the new carpet and my room with all the stuff back in it.  I think it was more of a pain to put all my stuff back than to take it out in the first place.  My room looks pretty much the same as it did before we got the new carpet, since my sister and I really couldn’t rearrange our furniture.  My brother and other sister rearranged their furniture, though.  My sister and I just have too much furniture to really be able to move it around anywhere.  It barely fits in there as it is.

I’m not sure if you’ll really be able to tell that the carpet is new just based on the pics.  But it’s really nice.  I love the color and it’s very soft.

The mess that is our closet.  It actually looked much worse before we redid the carpet.
