When I went to LeakyCon I never really thought I’d ever attend another Harry Potter convention because what were the chances of another one happening in the Northeast? Apparently pretty much zero, but I’m still going to another convention. In March I decided to go to Infinitus 2010 which is taking place in Orlando on July 15-19. There were a hundred reasons why I shouldn’t have signed up to go, money being number one, but I signed up anyway. I’ve never gone on any sort of trip without my parents that far away. Hell, I’ve never even BEEN to Florida.
But, one of my friends really wanted to go and she wanted me to go with her so I decided to just go. I haven’t flown since I was five and frankly I’m terrified but the thought of another Harry Potter convention on the other end of the flight is going to get me through. I’m driving to my friend’s house on Wednesday and we’ll fly out of the airport near her house on Thursday as it’s about half the price of flying out of the airport near my house.
One of the best things about this con is that I will be able to meet some of the people who run my favorite fan fiction site and hang out with them. We’ve been discussing Infinitus on Twitter for at least six months and the excitement is only brewing. I will return with plenty of stories and pictures (which I may actually remember to post, as I never posted the LeakyCon ones).
