The other day the phone rang and it was a guy with some kind of Middle Eastern or Indian accent wanting me to take a survey about the fire alarms in my house. Before I could say no, he started rattling off the questions, so I just answered them. He went through the expected questions like ‘do you have smoke alarms’, ‘do you test them regularly’, and such. Then he asked a question that I had to stifle my laughter at until I got off the phone.
Telemarketer- “Now, when your smoke alarm go off, does it make big loud noise?”
Me- *trying not to laugh* “Um, yes, yes it does.”
