What A Coincidence

I am highly considering buying an iPod.  Back when iPods were first popular when I was in high school, the things were obscenely expensive and there was no way I could afford one on my $20 a month allowance.

However, now the price of iPods is much lower than it was even 2 years ago.  I purchased my iAudio F1 in the Spring of 2006 and paid $100 for it.  Right now, I could get a refurbished iPod Nano for $100, at 4GB.  My iAudio is 1GB.

My iAudio MP3 player is currently screwing up (see previous post) and I have no idea why.  It is also almost full.  Therefore, I am tempted to buy an 8GB iPod Nano, most likely refurbished from the Apple Store.  I purchased my iBook refurbished from the Apple Store and am very pleased with it.

The funny thing is, is that last night I was looking at the refurbished iPod Nanos and saw that a 4GB was $100.  I was pretty sure that is what I would get, if I got one.  But, I was on the Apple Store website this morning and it said they were updating the site, so it was unavailable.  I went to class and then went back to the site afterwards.  I then saw that the updates they were talking about were the new iPod Nanos.  Yep, within 5 hours of looking at the site, Apple came out with a new generation of Nanos.  I had no idea they were even doing this, which is strange since I am on their email list.

The even better part is that the new iPod Nano is cheaper than the old one.  $150 for a new 8GB.  Plus, they reduced the cost of the 8GB refurbished old generation Nano to $130.  So now I not only have to decide if I’m going to get one, I have to decide which kind.  Decisions, decisions…
